1.0 Ecoboost - Two Questions - Hill Assist & Washwipers

Featured Replies

Hi all

First post so be gentle

Had a Ecoboost for around 4 months and really happy with it

38k - Some Service History

Firstly - Hill Assist - It seems to have a mind of its own - Sometimes it works and other times its off ( no warnings / errors). Ive read a few times this could be battery related? - Its not impacting my driving really but welcome any thoughts on how to make it work - Unclicked and Clicked the menu box a view times in the car but doesnt make any difference

Second Question

Yesterday my front and rear washwipe stopped totally - I cant hear the pump - checked fluid & now moving onto the Fuses  - Question - Are the fuses in the engine bay ( seen a few different examples or in car / engine bay) - and are the fuses independant of one another? - If the pump was ok - would the back work but the front not and vice versa? - Just wondering if both arent working its a good indicator of the pump being broken? ( seems early?)

All advice welcome - Im no mechanic and trying to save a few quid in case anything can be resolved myself

Thanks all :)

Hi,

Front and rear washers use the same pump.  It is just reversed polarity for rear.

Does a Mk4 Focus have hill start assist?  Or is it the Auto-hold that's not working reliably?  If so, Auto-hold switching itself off occasionally could be a sign of a low battery but does seem to happen randomly on Mk4's anyway.
