Squeak on O/S/F driving me insane! HELP please !

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2012 Focus with an annoying squeak on the o/s/f! Noises in cars literally drive me insane and this one is becoming very difficult to pinpoint.

It’s at its worst when going slowly for eg over speed bumps or any movement that the car flexes from side to side/ up and down. So far we have changed the strut top mounts, the noise stopped for 2 weeks and returned. Next we changed the anti roll bar bushes which were worn on closer inspection. This has improved the handling vastly and the noise disappeared….briefly, but its now back!

Its seems like every time it goes on a ramp and is suspended the noise stops and then a short while later it returns.

Has anyone else had this???

Not sure whether to opt for drop links next or go all out and change shock absorbers?

Really hoping one of you lovely guys or girls can point me in the right direction before I completely lose the will ☺️🙏x

What about spraying the individual moving parts (behind any rubber gaiters) with WD40 etc until you find the source, rather than changing expensive shockers etc, unless there's no other option of course?

Thank you for your reply ☺️

Sorry, I forgot to say that as far as I know everything that could be greased has been 🤞
