MK2.5 High Level/Tail Brake Light Ground Location?

My high-level/tail brake light is permanently on when I've got my headlights on. All my research suggests the problem is with the ground wire, but I've got no idea where that will be.

Can anyone point me in the right direction before I start randomly removing unnecessary parts of my car?

    Wiring schematic says left wheelarch ground for the centre brake light

    Not sure if there’s a schematic of the actual positions, as that’s still a bit vague. Not had time to dig further
