Tpms problem on ford focus

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

having recently purchased a 2015 focus titanium and really enjoying it having come from a Skoda yeti.

however, this tyre pressure monitoring is causing me a problem.
it keeps saying tyre monitoring not detected, I have reset this on the dash then driving 20 mins later it’s back on.

ive had the sensor changed in the wheel, it’s the passenger side front, I bought a sensor reset tool,  but it will not pick this sensor up at all.

Is there anything else I can check, I’ve downloaded fordscan but still learning this, any help would be most appreciated before I tear what’s leafy of my hair out.

thanks.

Is it the correct sensor type for your car? There are different types frequencies for different systems.

im not 100% how the system works on the 2015 focus after replacing one of my mine on a Galaxy it picked it up automatically after around 10 miles of driving no coding or tools required.

Hello,

I replaced all 4 TPMS sensors (433 MHz, EV6T-1A180-DB / EV6T-1A150-DB) on my 2015 Ford Focus Titanium.

Photos attached of both the sensors and the TPMS tool I used.

Relearn was done with Forscan software, starting in this order:
Front Left → Front Right → Rear Right → Rear Left

All working fine since Feb 2022.

Did the old sensors that you removed have a white square on them? Or some other shape?

On a 2016 vehicle it is very likely either the TPMS sensor battery is dead (expected to last 7 to 10 years), or the sensor has been replaced and has never been 'Trained' with the service tool.

Not on a 2015 focus. The sensor signal is picked up directly from the bcm.

So is there a problem with my bcm? Is it possible to talk to this some way using for scan or is it main dealer and expensive?

The simple answer is that your front left TPMS sensor is broken.

It might be brand new but that proves nothing. Buy another new sensor, they are less than £10 and get it fitted. That will cost a lot less than a trip to a Ford dealer.

Does your sensor tool pick up the other 3 sensors ok?
