Broken my central locking on Transit Connect 2005

Featured Replies

Hi. I have just bought a 2005 1.8 Transit Connect.

  • I took the rear doors off and cut the wires to the doors (because I'm not using the rear doors and I didn't realise it would mess up the whole locking system).
  • Now the central locking does not work - it locks but then unlocks straight away. I cannot manually lock the doors either - they just unlock again.
  • I don't need central locking and i wont be using the back doors.

I have tried removing the fuse but the central locking still works.. I cannot repair the wires that I cut because I don't know the correct order and they are all black.

Anyone got any ideas how i can lock the doors..?

Thanks

Follow the cut wiring loom back to the connector at the RH D pillar.
It should be a 10 pin connector and hopefully the wires on the other side of the connector  are colour coded.
Shorting pin 1 Black/Red to pin 9 Black should fix your issue.

Thanks very much for your reply. I don't know how I would go about "Shorting pin 1 Black/Red to pin 9 Black". I'm wondering if I just replace the locks - maybe that would work and at least I would be able to lock the doors. I don't need central locking.

Thanks again for your help.
