Clutch kit + Dmf PT numbers

Featured Replies

Hi all,  been a while since I have been on but have a question.

Does anyone have a the part number for a clutch kit and dmf for 2016 1.5 tdci focus?  Either as a kit or individually.

Recently have a knocking noise that comes and goes mainly when you lightly rest foot on clutch so I think the slave cylinder is on way out (had same issue on my 1.6 zetect mk2.5) so plan to just replace the lot when I have all gearbox out.

Usually I go for LUK but see that the clutches on the 2016 focus seems to be Sachs so probably will just replace with a like for like unless anyone has any other brand recommendations.

Cheers.

Ford part numbers:

DMF - 1916431

3pc Clutch - 2015110

Clutch & DMF kit - 2257503

Tom , I came across some dmf to smf kits. What's are your thoughts on these?

Usually I would just replace with a dmf if a dmf is fitted and vice versa but apart from price difference / savings, on a standard car like my focus , (not performance driven or modded) would a dmf not offer better everyday driving comfort ect over a smf?

I would not replace DMF with SMF, SMF maybe cheaper but after a few thousand miles it's going to wreck your engine. DMF is there to absorb excessive vibrations of the driveshaft (opposite side has a belt pulley with rubber silencer), but you can avoid clutch riding, put in neutral when on traffic red light, do not brake using lowering gear, so DMF will last longer.

From my experience, some time ago, I purchased the LUK clutch kit but to my surprise all parts inside had Sachs stamp on.

I wouldn't recommend SMF conversions on any diesel.

More engine vibrations in the cabin and more wear on engine components.

I was looking at the LUK or Sachs, are both just as good as each other as most times I would of went with LUK but thinking Sachs maybe as like yourself I hear of people that are seeing Sachs stamped on LUK kits ect.

Just a update, went for the Sachs kit as it was in stock sooner.

Thanks all.
