Cabin Filter

Featured Replies

Replacing the cabin filter and come across this cable running in front of the cover.

No videos I’ve seen of replacing the filter show this. What the hell is it?  It’s making things pretty difficult as it’s not easy to move out the way of the cover. Is this standard on the 1.0?

Did your car come with the optional washing machine in the glovebox?

Seriously though, I've never seen that.  It doesn't look Ford standard tbh.  The Mk2's had a glovebox cooling duct in the same area, which made changing the pollen filter awkward, but I think the cooled glovebox was dropped from Mk3's altogether.

If that is a wiring conduit then can you see any mods like phone or dashcam cables around the centre console at all?

Can’t see any tell-tale signs of anything else non factory. No other sockets or wires or little drilled holes to give anything away that any mods have been added.

It’s a weird one. I’m the 2nd owner of the car according to V5 and the owner before me was an old boy that would be lucky to use a mobile phone let alone any other gizmos..

Years ago when I use to get aftermarket alarms fitted to my cars, the guy used trunking like that to neaten & disguise the wiring. Does it have any type of aftermarket alarm/immobilser fitted?

Not that i can tell. Nothing aftermarket-looking either under the bonnet or in the cab.

It wouldn’t really bother me (as everything seems to be working fine) but it’s stopping me getting the pollen filter out - which i would like to change as there was a lot of dry mould in the car after it sitting unused for so long

Wonder if this is related? Just realised that SYNC is not detecting my sd card.

Next to where the card goes in it looks like there is a little light that i guess should light up when the card is inserted and the ignition is on? Well it doesnt light up. And given that weird non-standard wiring conduit???

you`ll still be able to pop the plastic cover off the pollen filter houseing, is the flexi cable attached to the pollen filter cover ?

f12 was the last sd maps card i belive that came out, has your maps ever worked while haveing the car ?

Yes its attched to the cover with a clip of some kind. No choice but to snip it off i think.

No just got car on road couple weeks. Its never worked since i got the car.

  • 1 month later...

My pollen cover (2016) is exactly same but Ive not been able to fit the cover back after many many tries, did you fit yours back?

Because it was back to front!😄
