Engine coolant

I am new to working on cars am going to be flushing coolant system out on MK2 focus I am just after some advice does it matter what colour coolant is used and approx how much coolant is required to refill the system thanks in advance for any assistance 



Since you are new at working on cars I'll give you some pointers.

Firstly we need to know is the engine petrol or diesel ?

What size is the engine ?

The question that you should be asking is "Does it matter what type of coolant I use?"  The colour is of little importance. Personally I'd only ever use coolant to the correct Ford specification.

The system will need to be filled with a 50/50 mix of coolant and water.

Quantity and coolant type will be listed in the owners handbook, which can be downloaded from the Ford site:

It's a 1.6 petrol. I don't have the owners manual

See the link posted above. Just enter your VIN and it will give you the exact owners handbook for your car.
