Do MK1 front control arm bushes have to be pressed out/in?

Featured Replies

Need the bushes replaced but it's tricky to find the right spec and hard to make out if they need to be pressed out or just fall out, (I don't have a press) Replacement arms are £65 a side so not horrific and a lot easier if presses are involved but if I could get away with just the bushes it would be better.

most people just change the complete arms  faster way to do it

Yeah I felt the chances of getting 22 year old suspension bolts off was slim without cutting the arm off but if it was possible to get it off and change bushes easily I'd like to try.

give the bolt a good spray with wd40 before 😊

Not sure that WD40 will help much. I think it's more a job for Semtex 🤣
