Hey guys,

I'm the proud owner of 2022 focus MK4.5 (after the face-lift) and I love the car!!

I have only one problem, I can't get the OTA SYNC software update

Now I know that if I want to get the updates the car needs to be connectet to the internet (via WI-FI or cellular data)

The cellular data option isn't available to me because I'm not located in th US or any country that support it,

so I figure that the WI-FI option will be my only option. The only problem is, for some reason I can't connect my car to WI-FI..

As I mention in the Title I have SYNC 4 system in my car

I know that I need to go to Settings > Connectivity > Manage Wireless Network. the problem is I dont have that option, I only Have Bluetooth & Wireless App Projection

From a short research I understand that my car need to have some component that called TCU / modem

I think I may have it, cause when I go to Settings > General > About SYNC it showed me "On-Board Modem Serial Number (ESN)" and some numbers an charcters after that

Does someone know how may I enable the Manage Wireless Network option? I heard there is a software called FORscan whice can code the car systems and turn on and off some features

And if the "On-Board Modem" I've mentioned earlier is not the Wi-Fi modem, does anyone knows or tried or heard on someone who has retrofitted it?

P.S my corrent software version is 21333_PRODUCT Revision 284

Is there any upgrade beyond that version? I can't find information about that anywhere

When I'm trying to check on FORD website it's telling me that the software updated automaticly OTA in my car and it's also saying that I should check my WI-FI connection, but well - you already know the problem

 

Last question (I promise 😅).

If there isn't way to enable / retrofit Wi-Fi modem, can I update the software manually via USB or something?

I just hate it when AI has been on a drinking binge 🙁
