Audible 'warning'

Featured Replies

My father in law has an smax and every so ofte the car will audibly say warning.

We don't know why and can't find anything saying why?

Ps, this is whilst driving.

Any ideas peeps?

Warnings are turned on in the NatSav ? 🤔

Does it actually say "Caution" rather than "warning"? If so its a speed camera alert from the satnav. Ford call them Hazard Warnings and you can turn them on or off in the Sync settings.

I suppose technically it is a "hazard" warning rather than a speed camera alert as such, on the principle that fixed cameras are (supposedly) sited at hazardous locations.

It is a rather bossy sounding female voice saying "Caution" in the Fords I've had with satnav.

I only hear it when outside my local Police area as they only use mobile cameras which can be anywhere (apart from one recently installed fixed camera but that was vandalised before they could switch it on!).

Oh, that is sad to hear 😉

Yes, most of North Yorkshire was utterly bereft.😀

Seriously, though, It did seem to me a bit of an odd thing to do, given that their use of mobile cameras seems to be very effective and does catch a lot of people** (ahem!) and you can't predict where they are. With a fixed camera people soon learn where they are (even if the bossy lady is silent).

(**70,088 last year - of which 9,926 were Fords, next most common were Audi (4,555) and BMW (4,819)).
