Foreign object in fuel filler cap nozzle pipe

Featured Replies

Not really sure how to start I was trying to put a diesel additive in the tank but couldn’t get past the easy nozzle cap so like an idiot I put plumbing pipe into the nozzle which didn’t work by chance on the other end of the pipe was a grey connector which was the right size and I pushed it in but it went too far in and as I’ve pulled the pipe out the grey part the connector stayed in there the wrong side of the cap and has now been pushed further down what I need to know is if that’s going to be an issue or if it needs to be removed it’s obviously a hollow tube a bit thinner than the actual pipe between the cap and the tank, but I need to make sure that that isn’t going to block. Initially I tried to filL the tank as it was 3/4 full but could only get 3 litres in, after pushing the grey part further down I have been able to fill the tank up.
I'm a f**king idiot and so annoyed.
please help if u can

The stuck part will have to be removed, and if the easy-fuel filler is damaged it will need replaced.

The vehicle should have a special fuel filler funnel, unless it has been lost. Replacements can be bought cheaply on eBay. There are two versions, one for diesel and one for petrol.

If it's just a plastic collar that won't do any harm in the fuel tank.  As long as you can get fuel in from a forecourt pump I'd just leave it personally.

What’s really frustrating is that I thought there was a nozzle somewhere in case u needed to put fuel in form a jerrycan and I couldn’t find it, whilst looking on the inside compartments I found it 🤣🤣🤣
