Hi everyone,

I have ordered a replacement battery for my 'Ford Focus Zetec 2017 1L Petrol' and I have two questions. Any help would be much appreciated:

1. Does the Sync 3 stereo need an unlock code after power is cut to it? - I have researched this and I am reasonably certain the answer is no. Just wanted to confirm.
2. Do I need to tell the car it has a new battery after I put the new one in? I'm reading loads of bits on Reddit and people are saying depending on the car you might need to reset the BMS (if it has one) or update the ECU etc. etc. Does anyone know if this is necesary on my vehicle?

    Answer 1. No, there is no security code needed for Sync3

    Answer 2. Yes, your car will be fitted with a battery monitor system (BMS).

    See the details i this post of charging you new battery (before fitting) and resetting the BMS
