Radio pulsing

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I hope someone can help. The radio in my S-Max keeps pulsing on and off, whether the car is on or off. I’ve checked the fuses and they seem fine. I even took out the 15amp fuse which powers the radio and it went off. I put the fuse back in and the same problem again. It makes a whirring noise and keeps turning on and off again within a few seconds. You can’t press any of the buttons in that time to try and perform a reset either.

I hope someone has experienced this and knows what the solution is. I hope it’s not a wiring fault and that will probably cost a lot in terms of finding the fault etc.

Thanks in advance.

I have exactly the same problem in my 2009 S-Max, the radio resets every three seconds, tried pulling out the fuse for 20 minutes to no avail

Take the radio out and disconnect the DAB antenna connector from the back. It's the small, round black connector on the right as you're looking at the back of the radio.
