Cruise control buttons

Featured Replies

Hi all, all well with you all?  I am looking for info on sorting the cruise control on my 2014/15 Focus 1.5 tdci Zetec S without Cruise control. I am wondering about what wiring is installed as built. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to whether, I get just the Cc switch and will all the wiring be there to set up the Cc with Forscan or will I need a harness for the Cc? Also I see C-max and Kuga steering wheels that may fit mine with switches on.

Thanks all Barrie

Can’t speak for 2014 but I did retrofit CC to a 2008 mk2.5 focus.

Was very simple, connectors were right there after taking off the airbag. No need for a steering wheel replacement.

You do need an ELM327 cable and a laptop with the free software ELMConfig though to change the coding to enable CC (Cable can be had on Amazon pretty cheap, make sure it has a switch on it for MS-CAN/HS-CAN)

Someone else will have to speak for your 2014 specifically though.

On a Focus MK3/MK3.5 the wiring harness of the steering wheel itself is different between a steering wheel with and without Cruise Control.

On a steering wheel without Cruise Control the wires that are required to connect the Cruise Control switches are missing. You either have to replace the steering wheel harness or add the missing wiring yourself.

Also note that activating Cruise Control on a 1.5 TDCI can be a pain. On some vehicles it just works by activating the Cruise Control in the Central Car Configuration (CCC) while on other vehicles the PCM needs to be completely reprogrammed.

Ok many thanks for the replies, you have given me thought on the situation, maybe not bother. Thanks again. Barrie
