Using usb to play music

Hi guys.

Our 2012 poverty spec focus doesn't have a Bluetooth radio only a usb in the glove box. Are there any adapters I can buy to play music from my phone via Bluetooth to the radio.

Something easily done if possible I assume replacing the radio with a Bluetooth one is expensive and challenging?

    USB is a data connection. The audio system can only play supported media formats from a connected USB data carrier (USB mass storage device).

    For a bluetooth adapter to be detected by the audio system it must present itself as a mass storage device. As far as I am aware this does not exist.

    USB Bluetooth Dongles are usually just pieces of hardware that rely on the device it is connected to for its functionality (usually a PC or Android Device). The Low Level Ford audio system does not have such capabilities.

    You can find adapters that plug on your cigarette lighter and that transmit your phone's bluetooth music to the car stereo through FM signal.

    Here a a few examples (I'm not selling them 😉), you'll have to find out which one does what you need.
