1ltr ecoboost

Featured Replies

Hi all does the 1 ltr eco boost transit connect have a wet belt? And is it any good? Im after a transit connect lwb and ideally I'd get the diesel but there's a 1 liter petrol on the market with 60k on the clock for only 6k is it worth holding out and waiting for a decent diesel to come along? I put a post on here a couple of days ago asking if the 1.5 diesel had a wet belt and was told non of them did but I'm still being told by sellers that it definitely is. Can anyone clarify which models petrol and diesels had the wet belt and which model to go for. Cheers.

Yes, the Transit Connects all seem to have the 100ps version of EcoBoost which is the old type engine with wet cambelt and wet oil pump belt.

Some of them haven't broken yet...  You can decide whether that counts as good or not.

Afaik the 1.0 petrol (pretty rare**) is a wet belt ecoboost.

I think Tom's already answered the diesel question on another thread?

**Out of 1378 Connects currently on AT 1294 are diesel so one should turn up quite soon!

Latest version -2024 on? - is VW based and has their engines.

Is that for a working Ecoboost 1.0 ?

It would be worth buying just for the novelty value of owning the an Ecoboost 1.0 transit with an engine that still runs 🤣

The 1.5 Ecoblue is a dry belt 👍

1.5 EcoBlue is dry belt.  Plus small chain for cams.  (Which breaks nearly as often as wetbelts...  Upgraded chain fitted for most recent models).

Earlier 1.5 TDCI is just dry belt as they were single cam so no need for the additional chain.

Which 'people' are telling you they're wetbelt?
