Want to put wider wheel on focus se

Featured Replies

Guys i have 2014 focus saloon car, i am happy with performance with K&N filter with great mileage

currently i have stock 205/55R16.  i want to put wider wheel only on rear end as its front wheel drive and i don't wanna mess with mileage / body rubbing.

looking for suggestion, should i chose 18" ford focus ST wheel or what to do for better grip on corner. thanks

BTW i am in Dubai. and here they don't sell focus RS its ST and power limited to 250 hp only.

We only got the Mk 3  Focus here as a 5 door hatchback or estate, so not familiar with what you have.

Apart from looking rather odd, putting larger wheels with wider tyres on the rear only, will only increase the natural tendency of a FWD car to understeer.

I would have thought 205 section tyres provide adequate grip for a non-turbo 1.6.

However, if you wish to try larger wheels/tyres fit them all round and use a comparison calculator to find wheel tyre sizes of equivalent rolling radius:

Ford focus SE is 2.0 non turbo.
