Focus Mk1 Thermostat / housing

Featured Replies

Hi Guys. I seem to have a leak at the thermostat /housing on My I.6  mk1 Focus. Any advice please on a replacement? EBay Euro car parts any to avoid? Many Thanks

Hi,

There are a few options for 1.6 petrol in Mk1 Focus, so it may not be easy to find the right part.  Being a 2004 model I am expecting it to be the Sigma engine, which is very similar to the Mk2 Focus 1.6.

If not already aware, the thermostat is not in the usual place on these, it's just an empty plastic box at the top near the coil pack.  The thermostat is under the alternator at the belt end of the engine.  As it's so awkward to access, and prone to cracking with temp changes, I would pay the extra for a genuine part personally.

Here is one example: Genuine Ford Fiesta Mk4 Focus Mk1 Puma 1.7 EFi Thermostat Housing 1493599 | eBay UK
