Wet belt clarification

Featured Replies

I’m looking to purchase a focus 1.5 diesel  eco blue active x. It’s a 2019 plate. Does anyone know if this has a wet belt please. The dealer is not sure

Thank you

The petrols and the 2.0 diesel are the only wet belt engines in the MK4/ MK4.5

Doesn’t the Mk4/4.5 have a cam chain?

The Focus Mk4 and MK4.5 don't use a wet timing belt in any of the engine's with the exception of the 2.0 EcoBlue.

The Ecoboost does use a wet belt for the oil pump.

Which is what I meant, I class any engine that uses a wet belt for anything timing or otherwise as a wet belt engine this means by my definition, the wet belts driving the oil pumps on the ecoboosts still makes them a wet belt engine even though their timing is now a chain.
