Tyre sensor issue

Featured Replies

Hi folks, hope this is ok to post here. 2015 ecoboost fiesta has the tyre pressure sensor not working fault message that keeps coming up on the dash. Have checked and adjusted tyre pressures but it keeps coming back on. I need to get it in a garage but I’m about to go on holiday and need to drive from Plymouth to Bristol airport and back and I don’t think I’ll have time to get it looked at before I go, so my question is will it cause me any problems in the short term? Obviously I’ll be checking tyre pressure again before the trip as I always do, but just wondered if anyone has any insight if I’m likely to have any issues driving it in the meantime please?

thanks in advance, Barry

The batteries inside the TPMS sensor's have come to the end of their life.

You need new sensors fitted.

Thanks so I am guessing it won’t affect the drive

Correct.  Won't cause any problems at all until you get to MOT.

Thanks you legends

Sorry to hi Jack but mine has been doing this started last week.

I've read that you have to take the wheel off and deflate the tyre, didn't get to read it all. Just wondering if it's simple to replace?

Very simple to replace if you own a tyre changing machine...  Most people will have to pay a tyre shop to change them though.

Oh so I will need to go to a tyre place to sort it?

Many thanks tom

Get a few quotes, as prices vary a lot. The most expensive quote was £130 for 1 sensor fitted, the cheapest was £20 for a fit-only using a customer-supplied part, £25 off eBay for an official Ford part, so £45 total.

A set of 4 new TPMS sensors can be bought for under £28 on eBay.

A local independent (back street) tyre garage will charge about £15 per wheel to fit them. So you should be able to get them all changed and fitted for about £88

ENGLISH translation by Google.

Dear good morning, I have a 2018 Ford Fiesta hatchback. I see the TPMS tire sensor logo on the dashboard, however, it is not active since it has never been turned on until now and my tires do not have sensors either. Is it possible to activate that function? By purchasing the sensors additionally, or even if the unit has the TPMS logo, is it not possible to activate the tire monitoring function? Thank you very much in advance.

Sorry but your message has not translated in to English very well. It is hard to understand what you are asking.

All 2018 cars supplied in Europe would have TPMS fitted as standard.
