The PATS security system means that on a 2020 model your options are very limited.

You can either get a genuine Ford key from a Ford dealer (strongly recommended) for around £220 which includes programming the car.

OR

You can go to somewhere like Timpsons and get a non-Ford key, which they will 'clone' from your existing key (a very bad idea) for which they will charge around £240

It is important to understand that it is the car that needs to be programmed to recognise the new key and it is not the key that needs programmed. The Ford system requires that all keys are fully deleted from the vehicles memory and then the existing key and the new key are programmed back in to the vehicles memory at the same time. This means that any 'missing' keys will no longer work with the car should they happen to be found.

The Timpson's  method of cloning the existing key, can and does lead to problems in the future if one of the keys is lost. It also compromises the security of the car.
