Been a while since I've posted but would like to hear what people think about the following. 

As above I purchased the focus recently. Going from a red edition fiesta and loving it so far. 

I purchased the ford protect warranty and done some reading. I think to be eligible the car needs to have been serviced at the correct intervals etc and it to be registered on the DSR or at least be stamped. On checking I couldn't see the DSR so contacted ford to check and they said it received 1 for service at 18326 miles (just before I purchased). To me this would invalidate the warranty that I purchased? 

Before purchasing I asked the salesman did it have a full service history and he said 'yes and we just serviced it'. As you prob all know the warranty for 3 years cost me £1199 so I wondering if this is now useless and I should contact ford to say I want to cancel the warranty (I'm still within 14 day cooling off period). 

3 year old car serviced at 18k once seems to me like it's missed the correct interval by a year. Do you think I should cancel the policy or get confirmation from ford that they will honour the warranty regardless?

I'd contact the warranty company first, give them the information and see what they say.

You should have 14 days to cancel.

If vehicle has not been serviced to specification then I would return it, especially after being told it had.

It sounds as if someone has interpreted the service schedule as 2 years/18,000 miles and forgotten the "whichever occurs first" bit!

Given the scepticism about the sufficiency of the recommended intervals anyway, I'd very much agree with Dave.

OK so update is they found it on the DSR at the ford dealership but it didn't appear for me. I think this is adequate?!

Should be fine for the purpose of the warranty. Your first post gave the impression that you had only just purchased the car, and they had just serviced it before that.

If the car is still doing low mileage, you might want to consider annual oil/filer changes.

Yeah they DSR only had the one warranty on it so what I posted in post 1 was what I knew at the time. I've subsequently found out the additionional info from the dealer.
