UK Focus 2015 Titanium X Adaptive Headlamp Europe Driving

Featured Replies

I will be travelling via Le Shuttle to France and have been reading up on what is required to keep the car on the correct side of the law in December 2025.

I had been looking at headlamp beam deflectors before realising that we have Adaptive headlamps fitted and I was reading some of the comments on Ford Owners Club last night.

I have just been looking at the headlamp settings on our car dashboard and thought I'd post photographs with descriptions on how to do it, before realising I can only add one photograph (maximum 2mb).

I started my engine and went into the settings screen

I scrolled through past Trip Settings 1 & 2 and Information until Settings was reached and press OK

Next screen, scroll past Driver Assist to Vehicle Settings and press OK

Scroll past Alarm and Chimes to Lighting and press OK

Traffic (R/L)  and press OK

It gives you two options Right hand and Left hand, as ours is a UK spec and we drive on the left, the Left hand setting has the dot by it.

To change it from Left hand to Right hand road position, highlight the Right hand and press OK.

That's it, it was a lot easier than I had envisioned.

I've ordered my Crit'air sticker €4.91 as we're travelling to Reims for an Krug invitation, I'm just awaiting delivery.

I spoke to my insurance company to confirm that all I need is my UK driving licence (old green paper), passport, V5 and insurance certificate.

The replacement Union flag (jack) with UK number plates arrived today and have already been fitted.

I just need to arrange a couple of reflective vests, and a spare bulb kit and then I'm all ready.

Note that to visit Reims you also need a French Crit'air sticker.

Without that sticker you are not allowed to enter the low emission zones.
