Ford Focus Mk2 tdci broken rear wishbone bolt

Featured Replies

Hi on removing the rear lower wishbone bone bolt I noticed the head was moving but not the thread so I stopped just wondering is this a big job if the bolt head comes of  and snaps I’m removing rear spring help much appreciated cheers

These always seize.  If the bolt snaps cleanly you can just knock it through and replace it.  But more likely the bolt has seized inside the bush sleeve which makes it very difficult to remove.  Car shouldn't be driven like that so you would need to get a mobile mechanic out if you can't remove it yourself.

Thanks Tom Will maybe see if I can compress the spring with tool I have does the nut on the bolt move if not I shall take shock bolt off  and leave well enough alone for now cheers

If the head of the bolt moves and the thread doesn't, that would suggest the bolt has snapped anyway, so the car can't be driven till this is rectified whatever you do.
