Damaged Side Repeater Lens

I've managed to crack the clear plastic lens of the near-side repeater. The cover itself is untouched. I'm hoping replacement might be simply a matter of levering out the old and snapping in the new? Any tips gratefully received.

You'll have to remove the cover to get to the lens. I learnt this when I managed to whack the side mirror into a wall and the whole caboodle came loose.

Replaced mine today after a car clipped mine.

If you look in the hand book it shows how to remove the cover for bulb replacement, basically the moulding needs pushing in to disconnect the clip holding it on.

once inside the lens and reflector are held in place by a separate clip.

Fords sell the unit (lens + reflector)for £17 not worth looking elsewhere.

Make sure all the locators on the cover moulding are aligned before the final push on.

Thanks irononreverse and cat ryan. I do hope it wasn't your car that I clipped (very gently!) cat ryan

After a second inspection I've decided that the crack is too trivial to bother with at present. I don't make a habit of it but it's possible that I may touch something again one day at which point your advice will be valuable.

I replaced mine about a month ago, it was so much easier to do than I thought once you get the cover off, took less than 5 minutes in all, Plus I only paid 6 quid including Postage for my lens off eBay, brand new and in the box, plenty of people are selling genuine parts cheaper on there

If the crack is not letting in water and it seems too much hassle then don't bother but mine was and it was slowly wearing away the mirror coating behind the lens to a black finish
