Not to sure if this is sarcasm or not but its not even turning over at all, been running fine all day turned it off as i popped into the shop and came back out and now wont turn over

Not sarcasm, just a genuine statement of fact. Have you checked the battery with a multimeter ?

I have not its my partners car hes had to leave outside the shop and uber to work, if it was the battery would it have started again after they changed the starting motor, or was the starting motor and unnecessary quick problem solving change. Dont want to say the wrong thing when we ring the garage tomorrow.

thanks in advance

Starter motors do fail, just not that often. However batteries fail frequently.

Loose battery leads and poor earth points can also cause the problem of a non-start. Turn the headlights on full and see if they seem bright. Do they go very dim when you try to start the car ? If yes then the battery is dead.
