Ford Focus 1.5 TDCI 2015 120 hp -Loose power and performance

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I write you for a problem on my Focus 1.5 TDCI 120 Hp - 2015. The car have 233.000 km and in this days i feel a loose of the performance. There isn't error on the PCM and nothing engine light on.

I have search on the forum the problem and i have understand it have a tipical problem with hose intercooler/turbo. So i think to have find a leaks and my attention is move on a hose intercooler (you can see the pictures)

Is it a leak where is wet? I have put the hand without remove the hose and haven't find a leak on the hose.

I have also see if there some leak on the hose on the throttle body but nothing...

Another idea: Could be also the EGR? I don't think it's ever been taken apart for cleaning

Thanks so much!

Update: While waiting for help on the forum, I tried tightening the clamps on the hose shown in the picture. Apparently, they were loose, and I kept tightening them, but there didn’t seem to be an end to it. So I tightened them by feel, to avoid breaking the clamps. When is a clamp properly tightened? Also i haven't find nothing leak from any turbo hose...

Nothing engine light and i'm on the second full of Diesel

Sounds like your clamps are threaded and need replacing.  The clamp should get tight eventually.

If the clamp is on a plastic part then you do have to be careful not to crack that by over tightening.

As you seem to think there's a leak, likely after the turbo (?) a smoke test may confirm or otherwise but definitely fit new clamps as above. If there's a wet patch on the hose then that would seem to be solid evidence of something going on?
If the leak is serious enough there should be a fault code SO... are you using Forscan or a generic code reader (that won't show all Ford specific codes)?

I use a OBD ELM327 and Forscan (version Free) but not there errors....

OBD ELM327

But is it Forscan approved i.e. no dodgy switch?

See here for leads if necessary:

Ma è approvato da Forscan, ovvero non presenta problemi di commutazione?

Se necessario, consultare qui i riferimenti:
