Ford Focus Mk4 2.0 ecoblue STline 2020. issues

Featured Replies

Car is absolute disaster. 89tkm

Changed torque converter, because it was dead after 80tkm. (3000 EUR)

Clima compressor died last month. (1200 EUR)

Car is sucking diesel like truck. Its about 8-9 liters in the city. (my M340i has the same consumption:))

Automatic gearbox is one of the worst I ever tried. Car has 150HP, it feels like it has 90HP.

If you think to buy Focus Mk4, dont, just run away as fast as you can.

Have you considered that it might just be your car ? 🤔

or even perhaps the way that you drive it ?

My own 2019 Focus 2.0 auto has had no problems other than one failed TPMS which was a cheap an easy fix.

Its not only mine unfortunately:) My friend already changed torque converter at 90tkm, the same car.

Also, asked a friend who owns a Ford service, said , run away from 2.0 ecoblue and from Ford automatic gearboxes.

Car is good looking, nice driving, well equipped... but quality is 0

What about your consumption in the city? And how is your gearbox shifting? Gearbox is slow and it shifting very bad, like from cheep cars from the past. I dont know if you tried other gearboxes, like DSG or from Hyundai, BMW... its a huge difference.

46 MPG

I have driven many different automatics over the last 38 years. The very best was a 2010 Jaguar XF with a 6 speed auto. The very worst was a 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport with a 9 speed auto.

The 2019 Focus drives similar to the 2014 Jaguar XF with a 8 speed box, but not quite as smooth when changing at lower speeds.

Where are you exactly?

Is the car well maintained? Doesn't sound it.

The torque converter failed at 80k? When was the fluid changed in the transmission?

Is the battery voltage good? That can affect transmission performance.

Is all the software up to date? Especially PCM & TCM, that will also affect performance.

What quality of Diesel are you running it on?

So, its a lot. If its a UK MPG, that is 6,2 liters. If you have a flat city, that is a lot.

In Croatia. Its well maintained. My friends also. Ford says there is no fluid change, that is also a fail from Ford. Everything is updated. Ford has one of the worst auto gearbox, that is a fact! Its a Ford gearbox and its bad.

Are you looking for some help? Or do you just want to complain about your car?

Im helping people who wants to buy 2.0 ecoblue automatic, to think twice. Is this a only help forum?

No, it's a place where Ford owners share information.

The reason that I asked is that people had tried to help you with your car which is clearly not working properly and I noticed that you hadn't actually asked for any help.

The people who are trying to help you might as well give up and move on to another thread if you only want to complain. 🙂
