It's normal for a car with a flat battery.

Horn just bad luck

Fully charge new battery before fitting then reset BMS

Thanks tried BMS reset now no issues however mechanic flabbergasted that three year old car needed new battery also said horn was down low in car so liable to have water digress and fail has put new horn higher in car to avoid future issues maybe a deliberate design issue by ford to generate more income for their dealerships!!

Yes, they're junk

The battery in my previous Mk 8 Fiesta was still fine when I p/x ed it at 5 years, though it did get a top up from a smart charger occasionally (but I'm a very low mileage user these days).

The facelift (Mk 4.5) Focus does seem to have a particular problem though:

Mind, my wife is an even lower mileage user and the battery in her car is over 11 years old and still going strong. There's progress for you!😀).
