im looking for some advice my 2011 ford focus has a battery drain somewhere and the engine refuses to turn off with the ignition. dash goes off but engine stays fully running.

thanks

Petrol or diesel, engine size and type, history of both issues  (i.e how long has drain been going on, how do you know about it, or did both problems start at the same time, has anyone done any investigation or made any changes?)
There are multiple videos on YouTube to identify drains but you'll need tools such as a clamp meter (Lidl have one this this week) to narrow it down.
I'm asking in order to try to clarify the problem for perhaps others to comment on.

That, depending on how it was done and what was used may have caused some damage, the drain looks like a separate issue unless a component that was damaged during the jump is the one that is causing the running on problem or the drain was there from when you got the car.

I'd follow the "normal" procedure for a drain (see You Tube)  i.e. get a clamp meter (as the easiest possible way to measure the current whilst removing fuses) wait for the car to go to sleep, locate the fuse that is causing the drain, look at what is connected to it, see if it could be related to the running on.
In any case, there must be a fuse that could be pulled to stop the engine in the meantime.
My other thought is to use Forscan (not a cheap OBD code reader) to see if there are any codes and then live data once you have a better idea of where the drain is and see if there's any clues.
I can only say where I'd start (and still unsure about the overall history and what has been done?)

Also check the Oil level is not too high although normally when that is the case the Engine speeds up until it destroys itself.
