Bluetooth connectivity.

Featured Replies

I have a Fiesta St Line x circa 2022 and an android phone paired up to the car, by Bluetooth. Up to a few days ago, I was able to make voice commands from the steering wheel. A female voice answered me, after pressing the button and all was well. Since then, things have changed and a barely audible male voice now faintly answers, after the button is pressed and I have difficulty hearing this response and nothing seems to work. HELP!

Lucky for you Alvin, your circa 2022/2023 model may still be in Ford's manufacturers warranty. Tell me what the registration is and I can check when the warranty expires.

The car is on Motability and therefore, if there's a problem, it's Ford's responsibility. I just want to sort out the problem, myself.....if possible.

Don't think I've ever heard a male voice through Bluetooth on any model?  It might just be the volume making it sound that way.

First check is battery voltage, in case the audio is now just coming from the tiny dash speaker instead of the door speakers.

If battery voltage is good then I wonder if there is a volume control for this?  Try opening an audio command and then pressing volume up while it's in progress.  Also check for any sign of volume control on the displays that you might have touched by accident.

Thanks for the reply but it's definitely a male voice. I have a theory that it might be the android phone that is causing the problem. Recent upgrade to Gemini, which is a Google AI app, may be the reason. Another example of upgrades making life more difficult for the user, rather than easier and glitches in the system that cause problems. Worse is companies that won't admit that there is a problem and that you, the customer, is a nuisance and that it's all your fault.
