Ford Sync

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a ford fiesta 2014 titanium x, I have been having trouble with the for sync. Bluetooth with my phone (s24 ultra) drops out, sometimes just connects without music, or just music and no phone function. I just take the fuse out and put it back. Getting sick of it now so phoned ford. £90 for them to check it out.

I stumbled across the update page on ford website, ive uploaded a photo so you can  see with my vin number it says needs an update, my questions are will it run the update? With the age of my car ive herd sync 1 wont update to sync 5, and what would happen if I did this wrong I love having my music it helps my anxiety when driving.

Ford want £156 to alone do the update seems crazy!

Any advise please?

Thanks

Yes it should run the update. According to the Ford site you already have version 5.1 and they are offering 5.10

Click the box at the top where it says SYNC Update Available and install it yourself using a USB.

Thank you,

Ill give it go, its the unzipping of files and stuff that confuses me lol!

make sure your USB is formatted at fat32 and the files are in the root folder.

if you use windows 10/11, you should be able to open the file and copy them directly to the USB pen drive.

BTW I did this earlier today, but 2 hours later it was still in the process of installing 😞  meant to take 30 mins 😞

Hi,

Hi, new to the group after having joined to find out if I can solve my Fiesta Titanium SYNC issues. The above has helped to some extent and I have updated the SYNC to 5.11 now, so thanks Paul for the help there.

However, I still only have mobile phone connectivity with the car via Bluetooth. No media. It was working up until the end of November no problem, for both me and my daughter (Pixel 8 and Samsung 22) but then just stopped working. SYNC wants me to connect a USB device but then gets stuck on "initializing".....?

What I have been unable to do is a complete reset of the stereo. Even when I pulled out a fuse behind the glove box and the stereo went off but when I put the fuse back in the stereo still had all the presets. I tried disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and still no reset.

Any additional help would be appreciated on how to reset the stereo as I think this is the only route left before I concede that the issue is terminal.

Pic of the stereo as there appear to be a few variants.

my system is an older version, however I think you need to press the AUX button again.

Mine toggles between phone and USB
