2020 - ST - Remap - Spluttering problem

Featured Replies

Hi, so the stock Cat collapsed and clogged the Gpf, - needed new exhaust so upgraded,

2020 focus St - added a cobra sport exhaust  from the turbo back.

had a remap with GPF delete,

since having the car back, car has spluttered, coughed and been all over the place with getting power down and bogging down.

Apparently the map is used nationwide "top gear tunning"? Iv never heard,

however anyone had any similar problems? Could this be just a mapping problem ? Air / fuel mixture not right ?

thanks

I'd suspect the cheap, laptop, remap.

Put it back to standard, find out why it's not running properly, fix it, then remap using a reputable company

Top Gear Tuning was setup by some of the Top Gear team many years ago.  But as with many companies, has since been bought by the highest bidder and is now just another generic mapping company.

Have you had a sports cat fitted or is it decat as well as de-GPF?

Currently there isn't a specific MOT requirement for a GPF on petrol cars.  So as long as the system still has the cat to meet tailpipe requirements, and hasn't just been hacked about with poor welds, it is unlikely that the tester would even notice a GPF delete.

As an upright citizen, I'm shocked!😀

Does sound as if the re-map doesn't suit the mod. I understand TGT is a franchise operation and it is often the case that some franchisees are better than others.

Whatever, if the car was running ok beforehand, it does point to the culprit being the people who did the work.

Sports cat with the full exhaust from turbo back.

It looks like there's a Gpf straight after the car but it's deleted out (hence needing remap also) there is also a Gpf at the back box with these cars! Which with the stock exhaust that's on the ST it's standard steel which easily rusts, corrodes and noticeably heavier than what most performance cars come with stainless steel exhausts as stock! stock pipes also feels very restrictive with the car aswell.

I didn't really want the remap done where it was taken as I knew this would probably happen with generic flash mapping.

it's being flashed back to the stock map Monday and I have booked it in with David Coe garage, which is where most mechanics have said to take it.
