Drive/ serpentine belt replacement

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I got a 2005 diesel 1.4 fiesta with no ac and my drive belt snapped yesterday. Belt looked really tired with pieces missing everywhere. I got a new one and tryed to fit myshelf. I removed the driver side wheel and headlight and started working. To be fair I wasn’t sure the right way to put the belt on but eventually I managed to put it on but it’s very loose. My questions is, does anyone know the correct way to put the belt on and around the pulleys? Also, why is it loose? In my understanding it should be stiff and then I’d have to loose some pulley to put it on. I did lots of research but I couldn’t find any video that has the exact same layout as mine. I’ll attach a photo that might help. Any recommendations/comments are appreciated fellas, thank you and have a nice Sunday.

The belt is incorrectly routed around the alternator and pulleys.
