Yellow Engine Warning Light (Low oil pressure warning)

Featured Replies

Hello from Istanbul, my car is a 2019 Focus 1.5 Ti-Vct Automatic LPG Titanium.

A week after I had my 60,000 km service done 1.5 years ago, the yellow engine warning light came on and a low oil pressure warning. When I started, the engine power was cut in half. Although the warning light remained on when I stopped and restarted it, the low oil pressure warning disappeared, and I continued on my way as if nothing had happened.

When I took it to the dealership, they claimed they had used the wrong oil, the correct 5W-20, and cleaned the oil sensor and oil pan. However, the problem persisted.

The car currently has 80,000 km on it, and the problem persists.

What has been done so far:

1. The oil pan and oil sensor were cleaned (twice).

2. The oil and filter were changed a total of four times.

3. A new oil pump was installed, even though there was no problem.

4- The computer has been reprogrammed.

5- The timing belt was replaced during the 80,000 km maintenance last week, and the oil and filter were also changed.

The warning light is still on, and it usually gives an oil pressure warning once a month. When restarted, the problem goes away, but the warning light remains on continuously.

I request your assistance. Best Regards.

Have you hooked up a oil pressure gauge and looked at the actual oil pressure, if it's fine, you likely have a failed oil pressure sensor. I had that on my MK4 focus 1.5 diesel.

The oil pressure gauge was checked. I think I need to replace the oil pressure sensor. I'll try that this weekend. Thank you friend.
