60 plate Ford Fiesta 1.4l running terribly

Featured Replies

My car has started running as shown in the video linked: Engine Video it appears to be constantly searching for power as if it can’t idle correctly or is out of time. Just hoping by some miracle that someone might have an idea of what might be wrong. I was able to drive it about 100m in which time the engine cut out a couple of times and then struggled to even start. I’ve recently replaced the alternator belt that snapped(only drove for 500m after it snapped) and then replaced the throttle body as that wasn’t opening correctly but even with a replacement that is functioning correctly the engine still doesn’t run properly.

When the alternator belt snaps, the shock can cause the timing belt to jump a tooth or two.

I can't really tell whether it's out of time from that video though.

It doesn't sound out of time, it kind of sounds like a vacuum leak "hunt"

If that's the case, check the PCV hose under the manifold.  That's the one that usually splits on this engine.
