Ford Fiesta 2021 model key fob not working

Featured Replies

Hi all please can someone help me with this I recently changed the battery in my key fob as the dash said low battery level but now it won’t work how do you get it sorted as I don’t know if it needs reprogramming or not and there is nothing in the owners hand book to help? Thanks

Hi Tony,

I presume as you have the 1.1 it is key start? The handbook instructions below cover all that is required, no programming is necessary.

Things to check:

- "Dud" or counterfeit batteries do get into legitimate supply chains. If you have a multimeter, the new battery should be showing 3.3v. Otherwise you could try another new one of a different make.

- Obvious thing, are you sure the battery was inserted correctly and the right way up? We've all done it!

- Batteries nowadays often have safety stickers which can leave a residue when peeled off. Use a solvent to ensure the battery contact areas are free from this and fingerprints, etc.

It's probably a late 2021-on facelift model (Mk 8.5) registered in 2023.
