Fiesta steering knock noise

Featured Replies

steering knock noise but took to garage found nothing no play etc can hear thudding when moving wheel anyone same issue?

Is the noise as you turn the steering wheel left & right ? We had a noise and it was happening on many Fiestas.

youtube link with the noise I had......

You can feel this play in the joint with your fingers as well as hear it if you rock the steering wheel back n forth. Also check the anti roll bar drop links, the inner and outer track rod ends and possibly bottom ball joint....I'd take it to another garage if youre not up to the work yourself, ought to be a bread n butter diag for a good garage 👍 I've done 210k miles in mine and replaced everything thrice or more. Its on its second steering rack. If you've had the rack replaced, check for the presence of two bolts holding the front crossmember up to the chassis, 1 each side. The nut inside the chassis rail corrodes and its a tricky fix...

Why bother!

I think the OP will never be back to look and respond! It happens all the time on this ford forum, a new member joins then asks, sees the replies, reads the replies, then goes to check, if it's resolved, then they never return to the forum.....sad really.
