Brake fluid help

Featured Replies

Need to too up brake fluid from clutch change and bleed.

Car has original ford brake fluid in so my local Halfords has the following available in stock.

Can some one tell me if these be mixesed with the original ford fluid already in the car?

If something of the two should I get?

It should be fine to mix two different brands of DOT4.  Best practice would be to fully flush through.

Not sure if you noticed the size but you're getting twice as much Comma for near enough the same price as the Mobil there.  500ml should be enough for the clutch line.  But not if you're going to flush the brake lines as well.

I have two bottles of original ford coming but have been delayed till next week so have to use one of these to get me through

I will do a full flush at next service on the system with the ford stuff.

As long as it's safe to mix I will pop the Comms into the system to get me through as you say more in it as well.

Thanks Tom

Unlike engine oil, dot 4 is dot 4 there isn't unique blends of additives, they all have to meet the same certification.
