Reverse camera retrofit - Need to know if it’s possible?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

i recently upgraded my original sync 1 system to a sync 3 that I got from a salvage car. Minus a couple of kinks that had to be worked out with Forscan, it’s worked great so far!
i decided I want to now fit a reversing camera into my car, and i hit a bit of a problem with what i have.
So I got an OEM reversing camera (again from a scrap yard) from a 2019 Fiesta (P/N: H1BT-19G490-AD). Part looked to be the same, so I figured I’d try it out. Now the problem comes when I see the connector for the camera is not what I wanted. It uses a 6 pin connector for differential video as far as I can tell, but my adapter harness for my sync 3 system looks to use VCA input for camera (harness linked below), I was just wondering does anyone have any info about if there’s some kind of adapter out there I can get that will work with my camera? Or is it better to just return what I have and get an aftermarket camera with VCA connection? Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Your best to look at the focus MK4 reverse camera retrofit post in terms of the factory camera (they are the same) the adapter harness you have is for an aftermarket camera to fit into the radio, where the negative and earth are linked.
