Rear wiper assembly

Featured Replies

I popped the cap and removed the nut, but didn't manage to pull the assembly off, I pulled quite hard even tried a trim removal tool, I didn't want to break it.

I wanted to pull the assembly off, just to see if it was splined after the thread, just so I could move it slightly as the blade is very close to the rear window.

I assume you are referring to removing the wiper arm.

The answer is they are fitted on a cone shaped spline and just pull off once the nut is removed.

That said, you either need a little puller or a pair of Molegrips with the curved jaws. If using the Molegrip method, just loosen the nut but do not fully remove it. Place one jaw under the back edge of the arm and the other jaw on top of the nut. Just give a slight squeeze and the arm will pop off the spline.

Thanks for response, that's perfect, I might leave it for now, but good to know for the future as I don't want to damage it as it's okay at the moment.
