I have a 2013 Ford Focus 1.6 tdi Zetec. The reception on the DAB1 AND 2 is awfull. Keeps cutting out and saying seeking pre set station. Any suggestions please as to how or if it can be sorted

You just need to have your local broadcaster install some more DAB+ transmitters, or move to an area which has better coverage.

I visit that area several times a year, I can confirm, DAB+ coverage is woeful. When there, we usually just listen to good old fashioned FM...

.... and they have the same car with the same radio as yours ?

DAB for vehicles was never a good idea, which is why FM wasn't killed off 5 years ago as planned.

I'm not sure about your model year Focus but it may well use the heated rear window elements for the DAB signal. The roof aerial is usually just for FM.

Does your car have a DashCam fitted ? These are known to cause major problems with DAB radio signals, especially if you also have a rear mounted dashcam.

This could be right as it would technically cause the electric from them to act like an emp to the reception if the wires run near each other. ( But say that our other 23 reg car has just started doing this with the dab radio ) but it's not uncommon with normal everyday house dab here to just loose the signals completely.

Is thete any aerial that yiu can but to enhance the reception. Thanks

I do not have a DAB radio in the car, but can you do a "rescan"?  We use it almost exclusively in the house.

DAB should be quite robust within the coverage area, you might find coverage information on the BBC, OFCOM, Digital Spy or MB21 websites.

The OP is in Co-Londonderry Northern Ireland.

Listed as Derry/Londonderry.

I'm not impressed with the OFCOM data, as I cannot easily find some UK DAB sites that I know exist....

Only stuff I can find is about 10years old, and predicted coverage.

(I know a lot about the 1121 TV sites, but that does not help in this case !)

There's these boosters. I have no clue if they work though.
