Rev/Throttle Issue

Featured Replies

When shifting up and pressing the clutch, the revs drop very quickly instead of falling smoothly, and the needle bounces slightly. It makes rev-matching hard. When driving around 30–40 mph and lifting off the accelerator, the car also feels jerky instead of coasting smoothly. Issue gets worse with the AC on.

Idle is stable. Happens hot or cold. Light throttle inputs feel a bit snappy. Throttle body has been removed and cleaned. No warning lights. Diagnostic scan showed no faults(Done by my garage, Not obd2). I previously had an ABS wheel-sensor code stored but no ABS light now and it hasn’t returned.

Before replacing sensors, I’m thinking possible MAF/MAP issue, a vacuum leak, or throttle adaptation needed. Anything common on these 1.4 Fiesta engines I should check first?

The reg drop in the video looks normal to me, I'm not sure what you are used to, but smaller engines tend not to have long delays in revs reducing as there isn't a lot of spinning mass that needs to be slowed down.

The throttle on these are always a bit sensitive (I'm not sure if you are just used to carby, diesel, or cable throttle engines), but drive by wire throttle is always more sensitive.
