Wet belt

Featured Replies

Thinking of buying a focus 22 plate 1.0 eco petrol does it have any wet belts

As already answered elsewhere:

It has a chain cam drive and a wet belt for the oil pump drive.

Thanks for the reply can you tell me if there’s any problems with the oil pump belt

Unfortunately we are seeing issues reported on here. See these threads, for example:

https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/154136-2020-focus-mk4-oil-pump-belt-issues/

The other point is belt replacement: Ford recommend 150k miles or 10 years maximum. Because the cam chain needs to be removed to access the oil pump belt, the job is virtually as labour intensive and expensive as changing the belts on the earlier engine (£1000 or so at a good independent, from £1800 upwards at Ford dealers).
