What 2024 ST Line X (mk4.5) extras should I get?

Featured Replies

Hey all!

So ive been following the used market for 2024 Focus ST Line X (mk4.5) for a while now and ive been trying to find one with the the best extras to price ratio but its hard to get one with all the extras and that is why Im turning to you guys for help. Im specifically looking for more info on:

- HUD: Cant find one on a non Active model, but is it even worth it on an X that already has digital spedometer?

- B&O sound system: Ive been hearing mixed things about this one, people either say there is barelly any difference or that its way better.

- Ergonomic seats: this one i only hear good things about.

- Panoramic roof: looks really cool, inside and out, but ive seen some stray pebbles wreck it. Thoughts?

- Matrix headlights: Very rare from what ive seen on the used market. Not entirely sure if theyre worth it since i hear they're really expensive to change.

Any useful info on these extras would be much appreciated as I narrow down a car im going to join your fabulous club with (well, jump ship from Fiesta club)

Thanks!!

HUD - Never had one so can't comment. Only seems to be able to display a very limited selection of items.

B&O sound system. Better than the peasant version but you need to play with the settings to get the best out of it. At the end of the day you are never going to get fantastic HiFi sound in a car.

Ergonomic seats. Personal taste, depends if you are a lardy ***** or a rake.

Panoramic roof. No way ever. Cold in winter, hot in summer, expensive to replace. Yuk.

Matrix headlights. Fantastic vision at night, better than any other headlight version but, as you say, hideously expensive to replace if they get damaged.

All of the above purely my own opinions. Others will vary, that's why a selection of models are available. 🙂

I didn't like the HUD.

Wasn't impressed by the B&O in Mk4.

Hated the pan roof, made the car feel hot & stuffy with the smallest bit of sun on it.

Ergonomic seats are extremely rare, don't think I've ever seen a set in a used Mk4 so can't comment on those.  What I can say is that the full leather Vignale seats were horribly uncomfortable.

Matrix LEDs were good on pre-facelift.  I don't know whether they were much different on facelift.  They are something that I would pay extra for when new.  However, they will be super expensive to replace when they break.  So that's something to consider if you intend to keep the car long term.
