ECO mode switching on while driving

Featured Replies

I have recently bought a 2017 fiesta st line 1.0litre eco boost.
it has done 60k miles and had a wet belt change. Nice car and drives well but just need to know if ECO mode automatically switching on while I’m driving is normal. It has a ECO button that lights up orange when pressed to indicate the eco mode is activated. I have been driving with this switched off but occasionally the light turns on and I can feel that the car is different for a few seconds and then it switches off and feels like normal again. It has been really cold the last week or so and could that be connected.

essentially I would like to know if this car should be switching to eco mode for some reason or does it indicate that there might be a fault.

many thanks

Hi,

This isn't normal.  The button should stay in whichever setting you choose.

Perhaps the button is faulty?

Definitely seems like you have a greta fault.

Give the switch a good thunberging and see if it helps clear it 🤣

Did MK7s even have eco mode?

Some, yes.  The Eco button is in the strip of 3 at the bottom of the dash.  The manual refers to it as 'Ecoselect'.

I'd be disconnecting that😉
