Heavy clutch

Featured Replies

Hi,

My new to me, 2011 Zetec S tdci has a very heavy clutch.

Can anyone suggest wasy things to check before going down the new clutch and flywheel route.

Thanks 👍

If you've come from a petrol car, a diesel clutch will feel heavier.  The springs need to be stiffer to cope with the extra torque.

It's a hydraulic clutch with internal slave so there isn't any adjustment or a cable fork arm to lubricate.  The only option would be to replace the clutch if it's worn out.

Ah OK. I will see if I can get used to it.

Ask Santa for a Gym membership 🤣

Strengthen leg muscles through resistance training with exercises like squats, lunges, and deadlifts, and activities such as stair climbing and driving a manual diesel 👍
