2013 focus tdci constantly doing regens.

Featured Replies

Hi folks. I'm having the above issue. Ive had the dpf replaced and literally every turn of the key it's wanting to do a regen.. and I'm also getting diesel in the oil very quickly, like after a week of an oil change I'm getting the oil change light come on then 2 days later it's throwing a EML light for excessive oil dilution with diesel..

Originally the car was throwing an injector code, which led me to replace all 4 and the garage said that the dpf was also damaged. New injectors have been fitted and coded correctly.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

What were the codes read with (The Royal "We" use Forscan as it picks up Ford specific codes that basic readers don't)

Then, need to find out what condition the DPF pressure differential is at and test the sensor and pipework for blockage and correct reading (zero at engine off, what it is at idle and 3000 rev/min?
Then investigate live data for anomalies.
The service and other history would also help as simply replacing the DPF (on what evidence - was it cracked, why? or clogged, why?)
As usual, I'll refer to Jimmy's channel which may give you some clues:

(Just noticed the other duplicate/incorrect area post, why can't this type of issue be edited, deleted or moved or the relevant bits put in the right place as this becomes confusing, to me.)

Not sure what the garage are using to read the codes. They said the original was full (cars done 270k) I'm based in Greece.

So about 170,000 miles. Just needs a new engine and it will be as good as new 👍
