Headlights were cleaned and demisted. 2000 glasspaper and water were used.

You need to start off with harsher level sandpaper go around 6 levels to the 2000. Use each 1 for about 10mins but not in the circular motion like you have. 1st up n down then the next level left to right and so on till the last level. Change your water between each 1 and dry it off each time too it helps remove any left over grit and stops that from making scratch marks that would be visible on the next flattening level. Then use headlight restoration Polish n cream you'll find they look near like new and it'll save you money too. It might even get you a few jobs on others if yours look good enough.

Removing the headlight when doing them does make it way more easier for yourself too 👍

Um, 2000 has done the job perfectly and the circular cutting has done no harm. As for spending two hours and six grades of paper, you have no idea of the original level of degradation so this is questionable advice. To the OP. Nice job. Well worth the effort. An inexpensive set of decent bulbs, (Phillips or Osram) will make your work even more worthwhile.

😴 the pictures are there to see get some gogs on..

The middle picture shows the lamp before washing. Evolve and grow a brain cell. It may help you to punctuate.

I have used the AutoGlym headlight kit before and worked very well. It uses several grades of fine glass or emery paper with a drill attachment to remove marks/cloudiness. It was quite quick and easy to do with little effort. Can't remember the cost as bought 10 odd years ago.

Anyway, if you only used just glass paper and water by hand, it did a decent job of cleaning.
